Seeing as the Random Thought Depository wasn't a complete waste of time (although that's arguable!), why not have a similar thread in the music based forum, but the difference being you note down whatever song you're currently getting a buzz out of listening to. Or just a song that means something to you at the time of posting, or perhaps one that you can't get out of your head. Hopefully this will give us all an insight into our bizarre music tastes - and perhaps even get us to seek out some of the songs/artists mentioned. PS... I've made a small modification to the thread, so you can give a couple of tracks at a time, if you so wish. I'll start with 'Utopia' by Goldfrapp. It's on the Teachers soundtrack and it's one of the coolest late night chill out tunes ever invented.

I was kind of thinking along the lines of 'song', singular, like the one song on your mind at the time or whatever. However, for you chaps, 3 at most. It's too easy reeling off a long list of them.

That new Craig David one is in my head (What's your flavour).
Thing is I normally hate Craig, but this one is quite good.

But....but it's hard to pick just one of em! They're all just so good. If you're holding me at gun point and making me choose, it'll have to be 'Disengage The Simulator' by CKY

Currently, my ear drums are being treated to a bit of 'Love Foolosophy' by Jamiroquai. I just love funk-type grooves, and this track is funk/disco paradise. Or something. Marvellous anyway. Now if only I could dance like Jay K.

Still got Jamiroquai in my head. Probably because I have my headphones on and listening to the Jamiroquai album now. That tends to get a song in your head.

I must say the presence of Jamiroquai-based worship on this sight whiffs slightly of cheese. Don't all his songs sound the same? Doesn't he look a twat in each and every single video he's in? And if the tabloids are correct, he gets in more fights than Liam Gallagher. Damnit Collie, you've shaken my faith in your music tastes.
Oh, right, 3 songs then: 1. Freebird by Lynerd Skynyrd (best solos ever - exactly what Feeder need) 2. Life On Mars? by David Bowie (best piano song ever - another sort of song Feeder need) and 3. Moonshine by Feeder (emotion without the cheese, and a nice grandiose closer to the album).
Now there's 3 songs you could take home to meet your parents!
P.S. apologies to any fans of cheese.

Yes I too do not have the 'cheese appreciation' gene. One of the things I like about Feeder is the way you can tell every album apart and the majority of their songs sound different ('cept echo park )

I'm not a Jamiroquai worshipper, although I do like some of their music now. It is so refreshing compared to much of the other drivel in the charts, even if it is perhaps mimicked by other pop acts. As to songs sounding the same, well some do, but only in the way that every band has a sound, and to the untrained ear, it's difficult to differentiate between the songs. However, there's quite a bit of jazz stuff on their albums, which they don't release as singles.
Feeder also have a fair amount of 'cheese' factor these days. Quickfade and We Can't Rewind stinks of predictable Stilton, and Seven Days in the Sun is pure Edam. Come Back Around is part cheddar too.
