Come on then chaps and non-chaps, post some links to bands and musicians you think the rest of the interweb need to know about (if they don't already). Not just obvious stuff either like Coldplay, Maroon 5 or whoever else has already achieved much fame and fortune. If the band has legally downloadable tracks, point us in the right direction to find them. No illegal shenanigans though. Resist the evil temptations of the p2p networks! My initial recommendations:Sia - www.siamusic.net : Aussie lady based in the UK. Had an 'urban' album back in 2001 that I haven't bothered to purchase, however, her easy-listening 2004 album 'Colour the Small One' is fantastic. Probably the album I listened to the most last year. If you only hear a couple of her songs, make it 'Breathe Me' or 'Moon'. The kind of tracks you can listen to all night long. The website has a few full length streamed songs from the album you can listen to, but you have to sign up first. Tina Dico - www.tinadico.com : Danish singer songwriter with a pretty good voice and talent, and looks alright too. Nice mainly acoustic stuff. An acoustic radio performance where she plays a few tunes and talks to an irritating American DJ can be found here: kcrw.com/smil/mb040929Tina_Dico.ramShe also features on Zero 7's 'When It Falls' album on the track 'Home'. New Disease: I don't think this band lasted long. Had a former member of The Wildhearts and Grand Theft Audio I think. I've only heard two tracks from this site : www.fivemileshigh.net , but 'In Vitro' is definitely worth a listen.

The Cakes... www.thecakes.co.uk ...their Quarantine single has just been described as "New Order and Depeche Mode electronica meets indie guitars" by a well known webzine. Ocake...it's my band...but we're good. Ryan is Fun www.ryanisfun.tk - they say they sound like "A drunk Mark E Smith being escorted from a dodgy art-party somewhere in North London with his band still playing until the last bridge." Some of their tunes are really funny, lyrically and musically, though can get a bit tiresome towards the end (ie about 30 seconds too long). I like Game Over and Up Down. There's always loads of bands I can recommend but I'm unsure about the availability of MP3s. I've been listening to Tegan & Sarah this week... Sia - I agree Moon and Breathe Me are quite nice, it's not something I can be bothered to listen to at the moment though. :S Tina Dico - I quite liked. New Disease - downloading now.

WOW! I didn't know Willie Dowling was the frontman of Jackdaw4! They added to Myspace "friends" ages ago and I haven't even bothered to listen to them yet. [edit] if you thought that was random, I saw Jackdaw4 on the fivemileshigh site you linked to! [/edit] ...oh, I've heard these tunes before...I must have known. Everyone, I recommend www.myspace.com/jackdaw4If you remember Honeycrack (Go Away and Gun - amazing tunes) and liked them, you should like Jackdaw 4 too.

Reuben:- Heavy rock band recently released the single "A Kick In The Mouth".
I seen them at Hastings Crypt last year, rather good gig it was.
Debut album "Racecar Is Racecar Backwards" made #1 on the 6Music chart, and were nominated for "Best British Newcomer" at last years Kerrang! awards.
No Hope In New Jersey- Supported Reuben the same night, appeared on MTV 2's "Brand New Spanking Music" tour, and have the same management as FFAF.
They're like punky and poppy rock, and had a AA sided single which was a top 40 rock chart hit.
The Ga*Ga's- Birmingham based heavy uplifting rock act with pop elements. Had a #2 video on SCUZZ called "Breaking America", and recently had their first top 75 entitled "Sex".
Cherryfalls- Scottish rockers who you might have seen support Feeder!.
Swan Lee- Danish female fronted rock band, supported Feeder in Brussels, their singer has a voice like the Queen Areena singer but far more talented!!.
They're a bittle bit 80's and quite upbeat.

The JCB Song by Nizlopi: A nostalgic song about a boy taking a day off school to go on a ride with his Dad in his old man's JCB. Not the greatest song by any means, but a joyful little acoustic number, and it's hard not to get some kind of smile out of it if you watch the video - especially when the Transformer pops up! Watch the Flash video here: www.jcbsong.co.uk/Although the quality is poor. If you download the song instead and unzip it, you get a really high quality video. Splendiferous.

CKy (Camp Kill Yourself) have just released their 3rd album, An Ånswer Can Be Found. I've been a massive fan of thiers for the past 4 years or so. I'm currently listening to AACBF. It's the first time I've heard the album. I think it's going to need a few listens. It sounds similar to their first album, Volume 1. It seems like they're trying to cater for their current fans...and not make new ones. Like I said, it'll need a few more listens before I get used to it. Hey, it'll probably be my favourite album next week. Anyways, you should download these: Volume 1: 96 Quite Bitter Beings Disengage The Simulator The Human Drive in Hi-Fi My Promiscuous Daughter Volume 2 (tracks and skits taken from the CKY skate vdvds): Disengage (demo) Arto/Rowley part Shippensburg Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild: Escape From Hellview Flesh Into Gear Frenetic Amnesic Plastic Plan Inhuman Creation Station Close Yet Far An Ånswer Can Be Found: Don't Hold Your Breath Familiar Realm - download here: www-scf.usc.edu/~funkhous/cky.html

The previously plugged Tina Dico goes by the 'slightly-more-amusing-in-an-immature-way' name of Tina Dickow in her native Denmark, and she's released a full length album there produced by some chap who worked on The Verve's 'Urban Hymns' album apparently. A look on her official Danish website provides a link about the new album 'In the Red' and samples of all the lovely songs on it. Perhaps I'm getting soft in my old age, but I absolutely love her music, and actually acoustic stuff in general these days. Her international (ie English) website says the album went to number one in her native country, knocking Coldplay from the top. Anyone that shoves those miserable overrated blokes down the chart is worthy of note in my book. Anyway: www.tinadickow.dk/musik/in_the_red/in_the_red/for some relaxing mellow (non-goth/punk) girlfriend friendly music. 'Nobody's Man' is especially worth attention.

HIM - Dark Light
Release date: 26th September.
However, special fan edition boxsets (20,000) were available for pre-order through Warner Bros. In order to get them to you in time for the release date, they shipped them from Chicago early. Well, just to us Europeans. I got mine last Tuesday.
From the other message board I go to, I seem to be the only one to have recieved theirs early.
It's such a good album. You need to hear it more than once to appreciate it's greatness.
If you don't want to spend £16.99 on it just yet, nick a few mp3's from somewhere and give it a listen.
Then buy it.
I dare ya!

Will you pay the postage costs also? Otherwise a penny isn't worth the effort.
