I've never seen it. The good doctor vee is a fan of the film if I recall, so no doubt when he's finished his rounds, he'll pop in and explain it all in intricate detail.

I think I'd have been lost if I didn't listen to the commentary.. Commentaries are usually such boring drivel, and they get worse and worse as the poor people doing the commentary get ever more bored.
Anyway, basically Donnie's supposed to be in the centre of the tangent universe, and Frank is his sort of guide. Donnie's supposed to be a sort of superhero, and it's his duty to sort of end this tangent universe and set everything back to normal, with the aid of Frank. So the tangent universe is like a puzzle which Donnie's got to solve, so he gets all these clues about cellar doors and worm-holes and whatnot. So when he looks into that worm-hole at the party, that's the end of the tangent universe, Donnie travels back in time and everything's back to normal. And then in the real universe the plane engine kills him.
Things I still don't understand: What does Grandma Death whisper in Donnie's ear? The 'fat guy' - he's from the FAA, but what's he staring for?

Ah I just watched this movie as I picked up the double DVD special edition thingy in the sales. Great movie, although I suspect like most people, by the end of the movie, I was scratching my head a bit and thinking, 'Did I just pass out briefly and miss the bit that explains it all?'.
One thing I love about it is the soundtrack. Probably the best put together score in a movie. I understand the directors cut which I have has a couple of different songs, but anyway, it's brilliant. It's also nice to watch another intelligent movie - or one that makes you think.
Rating: Two thumbs up and a big toe poking through a hole in my sock.
