Here's a thread for discussion and links regarding quick games that you either play online, or offline, and which have that one important factor - addictiveness. Basically games perfect for playing when you're bored, your boss ain't looking, or when you just want a short burst of entertainment. ------------------------------------------------------- Game 1 - 'Crazy game'--------------------------------- Type : Windows, single player, download (see link below). My first entry is a game hailing from some weird and wonderful corner of the world no doubt (ie it's not in English, though not that it matters). Given the name 'crazygame' by some who do speak the Queen's tongue, it is one of the most addictive games EVER. If you ever wondered (though highly unlikely) when did 10 seconds seem like a lifetime, then you'll discover with this game. It's about hand-eye co-ordination, reactions, and well - the ability to not blink. Your sole objective is to dodge asteroids for as long as possible. You have to download and play it yourself. Controls are the arrow keys, and Space to pause/start. (Windows only) Ratings:Addictiveness - 5/5 Dodge-left-right-quick-move rating - 5/5 Damn-I-died-because-I-blinked-rating - 4.5/5 Overall - 5/5My top score so far is 44.94 seconds. Get it (here). Game 2 - Sir Bouncealot -------------------------------------- Type : Java (Browser) , online only, single player. I was going to add 'Quadnet' as game number 2 in the 'Addictive 5 minute Games' list, but instead have opted for a Java game from the same developers - Sir Bouncealot. It's a simple platform hack and slash that you play in your browser - so there's no downloading onto your computer. You simply have to guide your little knight around the screen and hack everything to death. A great laugh. My top score so far is a pathetic 10,800 or so but I've only had a few goes so far - plus the framerate is slightly choppy on my tortoise-paced PC. Ratings:Addictiveness - 3.5/5 Heads-a-rolling-aplenty Rating - 4/5 'I'm dead again' Rating - 3/5 Overall - 3.5/5Play it here: Sir Boucealot

Game Three - Smash a Pingu (or something) --------------------------------------------------------- Type : Flash game, single player. Take a penguin, a yeti with a club and a cliff top from which the penguin can chuck himself off, and what have you got? It's baseball with a Yeti (and a penguin). Press space to start the game, then attempt to hurl the plucky pingu fellow across a vast field of snow by hitting him with your Yeti's bat. The further he travels, the more kudos to you. It's all about the timing. My best: 593.5 --> If you beat that, you deserve a biscuit - a penguin bar perhaps. Ratings:Addictiveness: 3/5 Smacking-the-hell-out-of-a-penguin Rating: 4/5 Can-we-do-something-else-now boredom rating: 4/5 Overall - 2/5 (Fun for a few bats, if only to try and beat me.) Play it here: Pingu twatting

I've played that Helicopter one quite a few times in the past, although it seems to be a lot easier now, perhaps they've tamed it down so useless cretins can play too. Boring as hell.
1/5
Aha, another Cruelty-to-Pingu game, quite good. Tricky though. I'm certainly no Robin Hood of the Snowball and Flying Penguin malarky. 3/5
-----------
By the way, anyone who can download files and has Windows and hasn't played 'Crazygame' needs their head removing with a cricket bat. It's so flipping addictive and the average go lasts 6 seconds.

Pah, pathetic. Practise. Tell your mother it's educational to play it. Improves hand/eye co-ordination and reflexes just like rounders or table tennis does. This place is educational too. It's good for your Ingerlish.

Game - Porrasturvat Stair Dismount----------------------------------------------------- Type: Windows, single player - mad game. Ah, it's been a while since we peered into games here so here's an odd one for you all. Stair Dismount sees you throwing our plucky hero down a flight of stairs with the sole intention being to cause as much damage to him as possible. You just have to set up the body part you want to push, the force and the angle and knock that little A&E headed chap down the stairs.... again and again... Brilliant. My top score thus far is 77097. The poor blighter wasn't getting up again in a hurry; not without needing replacement limbs, a new skull and a re-enforced spinal column. Ouch. Ratings:Addictiveness - 4/5 Broken-limbs-aplenty Rating - 5/5 Vommit Inducing Aural Bone Crunching Rating - 2/5 (bah!) Overall - 3.5/5Download it from Gamehippo.com

Anyone can get 11K+ points on that game. Did you miss off another digit or something, or are you crap at it?
