Well? Mine are Aral O' Hanlon and Paul Merton. Mainly O' Hanlon, because as well as being totally hilarious at stand up, after I went to see him I went to the Stage Door to say hello, and he stood and chatted to me and a few other fans for a good 15 minutes. And he signed my program and ticket, and had a photo taken with me, and best of all I shared my Smarties with him! (Bet you're jealous now Smarties are involved, Sam...)

Define a comedian...

A stand-up comedian. I believe the usual definition is of someone who does stand-up shows and is funny. You are allowed people who do chat shows and stuff too, like Jonathan Ross, but just comedy actors do not qualify,as the humour is probably not their own material. Clearer?

Yes.. Much better. Thank you...
Ok then...
Favourite comedians...
Erm...
Paul Merton (Have I Got News For You?/Room 101)
I also like Ardal O'Hanlon...
Johnny Vegas... (Hee hee hee... He's fat!)
I watched Parkinson tonight... Johnny looked very confused and embarassed when Rhona Cameron and Ian McKellen (Gandalf) started talking about being gay!!!

Paul Merton, Johnny Vegas, Ricky Gervais, Peter Kay and Roy Chubby Brown are amongst my favourite comedians. And they're all overweight, especially the last 3 - and by quite some margin. I suppose fat people need a sense of humour.

I changed my mind on Ross Noble today. I woke up with 'Just A Minute' on the radio, and I thought Ross Noble was being totally unfunny at the start. I thought, 'the Noble style has worn thin'. And then at the end he got a full minute about pregnant women. I was rolling about, it was mega funny.
Except for that, I don't think there are as many funny people as there used to be. I guess Ricky Gervais is still very funny though.

Ahh, I have a plan...
After there have been a fair few posts on this thread, I shall set up a poll of the top 3 choices! Then we can see who the funniest comedian is (by opinion!)
Splendid!

That's all very well, but that opinion thing doesn't sound too hot to me. I think we should work out who the funniest comedian is by hair length myself...

I've only seen Ross Noble on Room 101, but I noticed that he had some program on Saturday night. I videoed it and shall watch it tonight.

*Repents*

I'm not a fan of the lipstick wearing man.
But how could I forget Vic Reeves? He's brilliant. Totally mad humour, so he's right up my street. I've read one of his books and it's barmy.
And I also like Harry Hill. 'TV Burp' is excellent. And sharp. And excellent again.
---
I saw Ross Noble on TV at the weekend. I found his constant rambling style and over-the-top physical demonstrations a bit tedious, but moderately amusing - in places.
---
Another good comedian, although one whom I'm less of a fan of now is Lee Evans. I used to like him back when he was funny: before his ventures into Hollywood and the crap, 'So What Now' sitcom.
