So I've been getting silent calls from an 0800191773 number for weeks now. Several times a day, all hours of the day, weekdays, weekends or whatever. For the first few weeks, I ignored it, convinced they'd stop. But no, and things just got worse. Calling the number didn't help - I didn't get through to anything. I manage to track down the company responsible - but only through a Google search of other people suffering from the same thing. Apparently Excell Contact Centre , are to blame, and after sending a complaint off to Offcom, I contacted them. And this is what pisses me off.
I get through to some bint quite easily, and say I am getting fed up with being called from them, and immediately they say something about outsourcing their calls or whatever and they can take me off their list. So I give them my number and apparently it's job taken care of in under 2 minutes. But what pisses me off something rotten is the casual nature of the response. I've been at my wit's end with these nuisance calls, and they just take it with a pinch of salt, like it's nothing really to do with them, but I can just leave my number and everything will be nice and resolved. I want a bloody explanation for the weeks of annoying calls, and more so, a bloody apology. But the nonchalant response I got threw me, and the call was over before I really had a chance to vent my vexation.
How do these fucks get your number, especially when you're supposedly on the Telephone Preference Service (stops marketing companies calling you or they're breaking the law), and what gives them the right to have them, or one of the companies they outsource these friggin numbers to, call all the time? Cunts! There should be a law allowing victims of nusiance callers to be able to repeatedly call the home number of the people in charge until they too want to rip the phone out of the wall too.
Hopefully, fingers crossed, the matter will be taken care of. But that still leaves those annoying and incomprehensible Indian callers trying to flog me mobile phones every 5 minutes. By being outside the UK marketing laws it seems, I can't see anyway of stopping those calls any time soon, unless someone has a nuclear bomb they'd like to drop on the country. That ought to reduce the number of sales calls nicely.
