Apparently the BBC have a program about our nation's best sitcom on tomorrow.
Sod what they think, however, what do you lot think is our best ever?
My nominations would be:
The Office; Blackadder Goes Forth; Fawlty Towers; Only Fools and Horses (but the last few years were crap).
I reckon Phoenix Nights, The League of Gentlemen and Alan Partridge are also worthy of high regard.
And what about the worst?
Last of the Summer Wine. - Definitely the least funny sitcom ever to run for more than a series. The only point in watching is to see whether or not another one of the 'regular' cast has snuffed it since you last watched it.

One of my all time favourites which hasn't made it to the list is "The High Life".

Of the ones on the list: Alan Partridge, Drop The Dead Donkey, Father Ted and Phoenix Nights are all good, with The Office topping the list.
I thought The High Life was good aswell.

It has to be fawlty towers all the way... That Hitler walk. Classic. Well, sort of... But everyone seems to be forgetting The Vicar of Dibley. Does no one here watch that anymore? It's funny! You MUST laugh! Or else... P.S. If anyone has any suggestions on what my threat should be, please send them to... idontreallygiveadamn@bogoff.com P.P.S. (That is not a valid e-mail address)

The Vicar of Dibley was funny.
Once.
But it does no way deserve to be in the Top 10!

Yeah the Vicor of Dibley is hardly a classic. I was quite upset that The Young Ones didn't get into the top 10.

Of course Vicar of Dibley had to be in the Top 10 - it's BBC... and the final ten are all BBC shows. How completely unsuspicious.

You'd think they would know that we know that they wouldn't be able to show non-BBC comedies in their stupid, 10-week 'lets stretch this out for as long as we can because we own all the shows and it won't cost us a bean to show any of them - and we won't have to fork out to make any new shows in that time either, which means more wine for everyone' run of 'Britain's Best Sitcom'. Which, like the 'Record of the Year' show, isn't. Unless the winner really is Fawlty Towers. Because that is the best sitcom, anywhere in the world, ever. Although saying that, I never saw any of our caveman ancestor's efforts, so perhaps my praise was unjust.

Oh man, I just realised! It was a fix -- because of the unique way the BBC is funded, as Jeremy Clarkson [who's paid because of the unique way the BBC is funded] would say. Doh. Father Ted actually finished 6th or something I bet. No way is The Vicar Of Dibley in the top ten. In fact, that entire top ten is pretty guff if you ask me. Although I don't think I can think of ten sitcoms which I like... Hm
