I just spotted this weird creature in the garden. Took me an hour to find my brothers digital camera, fail to get it working without reading the instructions, then finally figure it out. From a distance and at a certain angle it looked a bit like a young owl. But disappointingly, up close I realised it's not, it's something else. It looked a bit wounded and all the blackbirds were flying around like lunatics screaming and trying to scare it. I have no idea where it went but off it vanished. Perhaps the neighbour's dog ate it. Even more bizarrely, I found this weird fellow hanging around the house. On further inspection I realised it was actually myself. It's been about 8 years since the last photos on me on the net so I guess it was about time there were some new ones. Jings: A photo where my eyes aren't closed or I look completely out of it. Ah that's more like it: looking like a wasted tramp, even though that's me wide awake. You may all laugh now.

that bird collie is a very young kestrel female by the looks of it, hope it survived but i doubt it some how, its not got all its feathers through yet, other birds will Mobb a kes because they do take chicks out of nests when theres no other food for them around.
so dont be disappointed it wasnt an owl, kestrels are better than owls they hover, poor things probably dead by now though, if you see it again grab it and call a raptor rehab centre

I thought it was a bit kestral like when I looked on the net afterwards. Can't recall seeing them around these parts before, although Pheasants and Partridges pop in from time to time, as does the occasional duck. Bill Oddie would have a field day around these parts!

If I were a girl, or I was gay, both of which I am not, I would do you.
Ah, God bless Monday mornings.
That looks like a pretty funky bird to me. Well spotted. I'll try and take some photos of the evil squirrells in our garden.

You crazy people. Stay away from my buttocks! Anyway, for those who want to know more about the bird in question, I caught up with the feathered one the next day after a trip back from the shops. Unfortuantely it wasn't up for talking, or doing anything at really. For the easily upset, do not click on the link below. But if you're morbid and like photos of 'sleeping' animals, click by all means. disko.co.uk/images/people/yourequiettoday.jpgIt's been a weekend of unfortunate passing aways then. On the plus side, if a stray cat comes past the house in the next day or so, it won't go hungry.

Why so many extra letters? It's as if you're doing an impersonation of that no-good chap who shot Cyrus in The Warriors. Are you playing with empty beer bottles on your fingers too?

aww bless it knew it wouldnt make it, if it wasn't really ill you wouldnt have been able to get close enough to take a pic. it was nearly dead in the first pic as birds of prey hide illness till they collaspse, but its natures way and 70% of kestrels die in their first year soooo anyway collie nice pics of you

Are you playing with empty beer bottles on your fingers too? Have I mentioned before that that is one of the best films ever? "Why did you shoot Cyrus?" "Noooooooooooooooooo Rrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasoooooooon" That dude also happened to play Sally in the great Arnie film that is Commando.

Weirdo. I knew either Wedge or Mike wouldn't be able to resist doing the Cyrus impersonation again. And yes, it's a fantastic film - a real cult classic. Aren't they remaking it? Probably be a load of big-budget over the top wank. The computer game looks interesting though.
